Dave took up the reins of the Children’s Protection Society as Chief Executive Officer in February 2011. He has been part of the community services sector since 1978 and has served on numerous boards and committees.
During this time, he also pursued entrepreneurial endeavours including a video production company in 1989 and a Theatre-In-Education company for three years which showcased his abilities to be creative, enjoy a laugh and think on his feet.
Prior to CPS, he was involved in the youth services, disability and mental health sectors where he cultivated a passion for the rights of the individual. He has the ability to capitalise on opportunities and never be afraid to ask the tough questions as part of his pragmatic style of leadership.
Dave holds a Bachelor of Education from Victoria College, an Advanced Certificate of Management from Monash University and a Certificate in Negotiation Skills from CMA. He is a Fellow of the Williamson Community Leadership Program, a previous member of Australian Institute of Company Directors, has Partnership Broker Accreditation and has participated in the Cranlana Colloquium.
