  • Dr Alice Hill President
    AB, MSc, AM, PhD

    Alice first joined the Board in 1997 and has served as Vice President and President. An economist with a focus on the microeconomics of economic development, she has worked for Frontier Economics, McKinsey & Company, the World Bank and the International Finance Corporation.

  • Karen Hook Vice President
    BA (Education) and MA (Marketing)
    As a primary school teacher, Karen taught in Australia and abroad until a marketing role in an international school in Singapore initiated a change of career. Capitalising on an opportunity to blend her educational background and marketing experience in Dubai, Karen founded a marketing and events company delivering experiential and educative marketing solutions.

  • David Colliver Treasurer
    FCPA AAICD
    David has been CPS Treasurer since November 2007. He is an experienced executive, with a background in private and public sectors, including service (financial and professional), dotcom and manufacturing.

  • Kate Cotter
    BEng (Hons), Bsc, MBA
    Kate joined the CPS Board in 2010, having served on the Strategy and Growth Subcommittee in 2009. A strategy consultant since 1995, she worked for 15 years with The Boston Consulting Group.

  • Steve Dolman
    Dip Bus, Det Snr Sgt, Victoria Police (ret.)
    Steve has been a member of the Board since 1995. Prior to joining, he was a committee member of the Crime Prevention, Education and Consultancy Group, responsible for Personal Safety and Protective Behaviour programs.

  • Mick Geary
    BA, BSW
    Mick joined the Board in 2007. With a history as a youth and social worker in the northern region of Melbourne, he is currently Manager of Community Programs at Banyule Community Health and Chair of the West Heidelberg Community Legal Service.

  • Tim Mulvany
    BA, LLB, OAM

    Tim joined the Board in 2003 and is in his fortieth year of practice as a lawyer. Through his city-based firm, established in 1979, he spends the majority of his professional time as an advocate for children and young persons in family law and other jurisdictions.

  • Bernard Murphy
    B Jur, LLB

    Justice Murphy joined the Board in 2006. A father of two who lives locally, he has a history of involvement in the local community.  He was appointed a judge of the Federal Court of Australia in June 2011.

    “CPS is unique in the way it has galvanised government and philanthropists to take real action on early childhood development for 'at risk' kids, putting that issue on the map as one of the big challenges facing Australian communities.  It is innovative and focussed on growth, not for its own sake but so that it can work to assist more kids.”

  • Wilma Paine OAM
    Wilma’s involvement with the Children’s Protection Society began in 1973 when she provided emergency foster care to children in need of protection and care. In 1978 she joined the Board and has since held a variety of honorary positions, including President and Vice President.
