As a primary school teacher, Karen taught in Australia and abroad until a marketing role in an international school in Singapore initiated a change of career. Capitalising on an opportunity to blend her educational background and marketing experience in Dubai, Karen founded a marketing and events company delivering experiential and educative marketing solutions.

After 15 years overseas, Karen returned to Australia with her family in 2008, and is currently Marketing and Communications Manager for Holmesglen Institute.
