Tim Mulvany

BA, LLB, OAM

Tim joined the Board in 2003 and is in his fortieth year of practice as a lawyer. Through his city-based firm, established in 1979, he spends the majority of his professional time as an advocate for children and young persons in family law and other jurisdictions.

“It is a privilege and challenge to be part of the mission to break the cycle of abuse and neglect. Advocacy of youth is the best investment in our nation’s future.”


In 2002 he was awarded Victorian Children’s Lawyer of the Year. He served on the Family Law Executive and Children and Youth Issues sub-committee of the Law Institute of Victoria for almost 20 years.

In 2012, he was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for “service to the law, to the protection of children and to the community” as part of the Australia Day Honours List announced by the Governor-General, Ms Quentin Bryce, AC, CVO.
