Bequests

A Gift to Benefit Future Generations

REMEMBERING The Children's Protection Society (CPS) in your will can offer a lifetime of support for children and families in need.

The generosity and foresight of individuals is required to continue our vital work as an advocate and leader in research and innovation.

Through your bequest, you will give the greatest gift to children who've been affected by abuse and neglect.

A bequest can help CPS in numerous ways to:

  • Develop innovative research focused on new ways to break the cycle of abuse and neglect in families;
  • Expand our services to children at risk of abuse and neglect with sexual assault, violence and trauma counselling;

  • Advocate to change government policy to impact and benefit all Australian children at risk of abuse and neglect;

  • Enhance facilities and training to ensure best practice for early intervention, prevention and harm reduction services.

There are different types of bequests including:

  • Restricted Bequests—bequesting either a dollar amount or other specific asset, with restrictions agreed upon by the donor and CPS;
  • Residual Bequests—bequesting a share of or the entire remainder of a donor’s estate after specific legacies, debts, taxes and estate expenses have been provided for;
  • Testamentary Trusts—upon the death of the final beneficiary, bequesting the principal of the trust to CPS which was set up to provide income to specific beneficiaries during their lifetimes.
