How to access CPS services
CPS is a child-centred and family-focused organisation that works with and supports families in the north and west region of Melbourne, Victoria.
Our specialised services include:
- Family Services--offers assistance to families in the areas of parenting, strengthening relationships and managing child behaviour;
- Father's Support Services--offers counselling and support to fathers;
- Sexual Abuse Counselling & Prevention Program--offers support and counselling to families who have been affected by child sexual abuse.
There is one intake for all of the programs CPS provides so we can coordinate the best response to your circumstances.
The Intake Worker or Coordinator will discuss your needs and provide information about CPS on the phone, undertaking an initial assessment to work out if CPS is the best service for you.
Once a referral is accepted, your family will be matched up with two CPS staff members who will contact you and arrange to meet your family. This can be done where you feel most comfortable, perhaps at your home or our offices.
Our staff will talk to you and your family about what you want from CPS and how your family is going-- identifying things that are going well and things you would like to improve.
Together, our staff and your family will develop a Care Plan. The Care Plan is a synthesis of your family's goals and our staff’s recommendations that aims to address your specific needs and issues.
