Helping future generations
Mentoring Mums is a volunteer mentoring program offering social, emotional and practical support to vulnerable, new or expectant mothers.
This program offers social, emotional and practical support to vulnerable new and expectant mothers by matching trained mentors with new mums who are pregnant or have babies aged up to 6 months. The mentor is a volunteer from the community who is a mother or grandmother herself and can offer guidance and words of wisdom.
Mentors work to build a trusting and consistent relationship with mothers, supporting them in their parenting role and connecting them to the community by encouraging access to health services, maternal and child health services, parenting groups and other community services.
