SEEDS: Supporting Educational Engagement and Development in Schools

Sowing the SEEDS of success at the right time

Transition periods in the life of a family or an individual child are times of significant change. This is particularly pertinent in the education process.

Times of significant transition in education are:

  • transition to begin primary school
  • transition to secondary school
  • and in the case of some the most disadvantaged students in our community, transition to an alternative educational setting when mainstream schooling has broken down.

SEEDS is a unique program that aims to support children, families and school staff at these most potent periods, with the implementation of appropriate programs and strategic interventions.

These are jointly-planned with CPS and School staff and can be tailored to the needs of each individual school setting. They may include transition program and classroom support; social inclusion groups; play therapy; individual counselling; referral to family support services; staff training programs; and consultations.
