AB, MSc, AM, PhD Alice first joined the Board in 1997. An economist, her fields are economic development, business strategy, regulation and governance. Her previous experience includes Frontier Economics in Melbourne and London; McKinsey & Co in London; and the World Bank and International Finance Corporation in Washington. Stephen Coffey
B.Comm. Stephen joined the Finance Committee of the Society in 1988 and became a member of the Board a few months later. He has had many years experience in accounting and general management in the automotive industry, as well as a brief sortie into the stockbroking business. In his 18 years with the Society he has held the positions of President, Vice President and Treasurer. Wilma Paine OAM
Wilma's involvement with the Children's Protection Society began in 1973 when she provided emergency foster care to children in need of protection and care. In 1978 she joined the CPS Board, and in 1980 she established the Children's Protection Society Northern Auxiliary. In 1985, the Northern Auxiliary established an Opportunity Shop in Rosanna, and funds from this shop continue to provide significant support to the Society. Since joining the Board in 1978, Wilma has held a variety of honorary positions, including President and Vice President. Marion Stanway

Marion joined the Board in 1997. She has been a Principal at Cap Gemini Ernst and Young and now runs her own consultancy. Her key experience is in strategic business planning, organisational alignment, organisational change management and performance improvement reviews. Bernard Murphy

Bernard Murphy is the Chairman of the Board of Maurice Blackburn Cashman and is the senior principal of the Major Projects department which is Australia’s largest class action legal practice.
He has acted in, supervised or advised on more than 20 class actions, including 8 shareholder class actions and two cartel class actions. In late 2003 he successfully concluded the GIO class action on behalf of the shareholders which resolved for $112 million, the largest ever class action settlement in Australia.
He is currently acting on behalf of the shareholders in the Aristocrat Class Action which is a claim for approximately $200 million in damages. Tim Mulvany (Vice President)
B.A., LLB. A solicitor for more than 32 years with his own city firm, Tim was awarded Children's Lawyer of the Year 2002. Tim chaired the Children and Youth Issues sub-committee of Law Institute for four years and continues to serve on that committee. He has considerable practice in representation of children in Family Court. Steve Dolman
Det. Snr Sgt, Vic. Police Steve has been a member of the Board since 1995. Prior to joining, he was a Committee Member of CPECG. Responsible for Personal Safety and Protective Behaviour Programs. He has extensive experience with investigation of child abuse and sexual offences and involvement with victim and prevention programs. Remberto Rivera (Treasurer)B.Econ.; Post Grad.Dip.Bus.; Post Grad.Dip. in Aged Care Management; M.B.A., A.S.A.
Remberto joined the CPS Board in 2003. As well as having a Masters of Business Administration, he has had over 25 years of experience working in accounting and business administration, for the corporate and the not-for-profit sectors.
His key experience covers the fields of Accounting, Human Resources, Industrial Relations and Facility Management. Susan Porter
B.A.(Hons); MSc.(Econ.)
Susan joined the CPS in 2004. Susan has spent most of her working life in the community services sector, mainly in policy development. In the mid 1980s she was the Project Team Manager for the Child Welfare and Legislation Review which led to the drafting of the Children and Young Persons Bill 1987.
In her most recent position she was the Manager of Guardianship and Advocacy services for people with disabilities in Victoria, within the Office of the Public Advocate. Now that she is retired from paid employment, she is enthusiastically working in a volunteer capacity in a settlement program for refugees. Michael Geary

Mick joined the CPS Board in 2007. He is currently working with Banyule Community Health as Manager of Community Programs. Mick is also currently the Chair of the West Heidelberg Community Legal Service and has a history as both a Youth & Social Worker in the northern region of Melbourne.
Mick is also a father, with four young daughters who lives locally. |
