Helping to Build Stronger Families

ChildFIRST North East (Family Information Referral Support Team) provides a central referral point into Family Service programs.  This service supports families who reside in the municipalities of Banyule, Darebin, Nillumbik, Whittlesea and Yarra and have children aged between 0-17 years, including prebirth support.

ChildFIRST is a gateway to services provided by a strong alliance of agencies in the north-east suburbs of Melbourne

Helping to Build Stronger Families

ChildFIRSTChildFIRST provides information and advice to families or professionals where there are concerns about a child’s wellbeing.  The aim is to ensure that vulnerable children, young people and their families are linked with community services and supports.

ChildFIRST North East is a partnership between the nine family service agencies in north east Melbourne and the Victorian Government’s Department of Health & Human Services who work together to provide targeted and individualised support.  Referrals can come directly from families or other professionals and may include concerns around parenting, family conflict, physical or mental health issues, substance misuse and social isolation.  ChildFIRST North East is managed by the Children’s Protection Society on behalf of the members of the Alliance.
