  Position Description

The Childrens Protection Society is a child welfare agency located in the north east of Melbourne and providing an integrated approach to service delivery for families affected by abuse and neglect. Services include a Family Support Service, Men and Fathers Support Service and the Sexual Abuse Counselling and Prevention Program. Staff across all program areas work together in care teams to ensure families receive the services they require.

The Sexual Abuse Counselling and Prevention Program is internationally recognised for providing specialist therapeutic services to children and young people who have experienced sexual abuse or who display sexually abusive behaviours. You have an opportunity for you to join our innovative therapeutic team of professionals providing therapeutic services to children and young people who have been sexually abused, display problem sexual behaviour, or who have engaged in sexually abusive behaviours. We use a child-focused, family-centred approach to engaging the whole family. Therapeutic family engagement is an essential component of the work within the program.

Qualifications in psychology, social work, family therapy or equivalent are necessary. Experience working with children and families is essential. Persons from Indigenous or CALD backgrounds are strongly encouraged to apply. Remuneration will be determined in relation to SACS Award, SW-2 to SW-3 range based on qualifications and experience.
