On Thursday 17th April, the CPS Angels project was unveiled at
Gallery 15 @15W as part of the ART FOR A CAUSE program.

More than 50 CPS supporters attended the event, at which Jenny Macklin, the Member for Jagajaga and Minister for Families and Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs made the introductory remarks. She confirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to Aboriginal children and spoke about the important work CPS does with vulnerable children.

The backdrop to the launch was an exhibition of 40 photographs of Dads with their babies. The exhibition celebrates fatherhood and the importance of Dad’s roles in the lives of their children. The photographs were drawn from the I’m a Dad program which CPS operates at the Northern Hospital and the I’m an Aboriginal Dad program, a partnership between CPS and the Mercy Hospital for Women. These programs support and encourage men as fathers and help them build strong relationships with their children.

At this special event, Neil Mitchell, 3AW Presenter, launched the CPS Angels – Protecting Children logo. He spoke about the importance of fathers in their childrens’ lives and how by supporting CPS and joining CPS Angels – Protecting Children, the future for vulnerable children is made brighter.
