Since 1896, a succession of angels has watched over the Children’s Protection Society, offering generous support for the crucial work we do with vulnerable children and their families.

Angels such as founding president, Lady Sybil de Vere Brassey and Dame Elisabeth Murdoch have shown support and leadership in promoting child protection.

While the protectors of children have often been women, men can be angels too –just think of the messenger Gabriel or protector Michael – and CPS has enjoyed the patronage of men such as Neil Westaway and broadcaster Neil Mitchell.

CPS Angels enable us to do our work in providing services to children and families. These include developing an early childhood education facility for at-risk children; offering counselling and support for children and parents, art programs for kids, a grandparents’ support group and operating a toy library; supporting fathers in programs such as ‘I’m a Dad’ and ‘I’m an Aboriginal Dad’ in partnership with local maternity hospitals; and undertaking studies to see what else families in our community need.

This father's day you too could be a messenger for good: join forces with CPS to help us realise our vision that ‘all children will live and thrive in safe families and communities’.

Add your name to those who have the courage to engage in one of the most challenging problems in our community and the foresight to realise they can make a difference: become a CPS Angel.
